Renewables

La Serra is proud to work in partnership with Vale Green Energy to use the renewable biomethane gas that they produce to heat and power our glasshouse.

Carbon Dioxide (CO²)

Carbon Dioxide is a by-product of La Serra’s heat and power generation systems. Luckily tomatoes love it!

By pumping the gas through the glasshouse we are able to increase our tomato yields whilst also reducing our carbon emissions

Harvesting Rainwater

La Serra uses as much rainwater as possible in order to reduce our draw on the mains water supply.

We harvest all the rainwater that falls on the extensive glasshouse roof and store it in a reservoir for later use.
